“I enjoyed ACU’s smaller class sizes and the passion my lecturers and facilitators had for their chosen profession.
I want to make an impact by utilising the skills modeled by ACU. I hope to provide exceptional evidence-based holistic nursing care to my patients and their families.”
Professor Kim Foster joined ACU in 2016 as Professor of Mental Health Nursing and leader of the Mental Health Nursing Research Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her role is to conduct high quality collaborative research with mental health nurses, consumers, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues that translates into effective care and improves the wellbeing and outcomes of mental health consumers and carers.
Her main areas of research have been co-associated physical and mental health, children and families with challenging physical and/or mental health conditions, and the mental health workforce’s capacity to provide quality care.
Books, fees, living expenses – costs can be a factor when considering study. But it shouldn’t stop you from pursuing your goals.
Luckily, we offer a range of scholarships to commencing and continuing students. They recognise everything from rewarding academic achievement to supporting equality. And with nearly 400 scholarships on offer, and the opportunity to apply for as many as you like, it pays to check your eligibility.
We believe great work that makes a positive impact should be recognised – and rewarded. So if you are regularly volunteering, we invite you to apply for our Community Achiever Program (CAP). If you are accepted into the program, you’ll receive an offer into an undergraduate degree as early as August. And you’ll become part of ACU’s CAP community.
